SNOWY REUNIONS

You will see under the heading below the plans for reunions in 2011.

A collective satisfaction was experienced by all who were able to attend the Snowy 60th Reunion. The summary of this reunion can be read on the page "Snowy 60th Reunion" .

Besides those who attended in October 2009 were a host of others who were unable to travel or who had prior commitments. They wanted to see the success of the 60th Reunion by registering their membership.

Many members also added donations as endorsement of the formation of the Snowy Scheme Association, a subcommittee of the Adaminaby Snowy Scheme Collection, in order to hold the 60th Reunion.

An outcome of the Snowy 60th Reunion was that the members generally wanted the organisation to continue to facilitate organising future reunions as the Committee saw fit.

The Snowy Scheme Association that was formed in May 2009 established its own mailing list from scratch since the 50th reunion records apparently had been destroyed. Set in place now is the ability to maintain the mailing list and add others as they wish through their registration membership of A$20.00. Note that this is not an annual subscription! You can register on-line at "Reunion Registration " .

Sufficient funds have been retained for Snowy Scheme Association's ongoing purposes after all the 60th Reunion expenses were paid.

To facilitate future Snowy Reunions, however, Snowy Scheme Association needs to keep its members informed of plans at the earliest date. This is the commitment of your Association's Committee and is the reason why membership is encouraged now.

Any specific questions can be mailed or Emailed to our addresses at any time. Otherwise it is hoped that you will find answers to anticipated questions given under "Snowy Reunion FAQ" .

61st Reunion 16 October 2010

The 61st anniversary of the start of the Snowy Mountains Scheme was marked by a small afternoon gathering, indoor in Cooma, on Saturday 16th October 2010 at 2pm. We knew that there would be far less interest compared to the 60th Reunion. Nevertheless, a great time was had later by less than 20 people over dinner including some who had come from Melbourne and Adelaide to add to the local members. Afterwards, some stayed and saw some beautiful slides of the Snowy Scheme and Snowy Mountains taken over the years by Ron Hayman . The Cooma Ex-Services Club was used for the 61st Reunion venue.

We would welcome you to join us on this 62nd anniversary for any of the Reunion opportunities listed above. Experience of past reunions tells us that there is much pleasure in meeting people whose lives were influenced by this mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme. Reunion is also the opportunity to make contact with those of like experience with grateful memories and to tell what life has been since those times. Do share this news with others who may be interested to join us in marking the 62nd anniversary of the official start of the Snowy Scheme.
