Saturday 24th July 2010 - Construction & Fitout Continues

Construction of the buildings is now complete.  Work continues on the inside of the Entrance Hall ensuring that visitor comfort and experience is of the highest.  The paths that interconnect the buildings have been laid successfully, thanks to some milder weather conditions.  The next major steps are to move the heavy machinery and other equipment into place within the East Wing and to prepare items to be displayed in the Entrance Hall and Auditorium.

The East Wing will house items related to life on the construction sites, whereas the West Wing will house life in the office (eg planning, printing, testing, etc).  The Entrance Hall and East Wing will be the first buildings open for public viewing when the museum makes its debut opening in September/October 2010 (this year!).

Our Patron Vin Good, the last Commissioner of the Snowy Mountains Authority before it was Corporatised, died yesterday.   His funeral will be at the Anglican Church in Cooma at 11 am on Monday the 29th March.

January 2010 - Construction Commences!

The long awaited construction of the museum has now commenced.  Two of the three sheds are almost fully erected.  The plumbing for the entrance (middle shed) is being installed.  We are looking at opening the museum later this year.  Stay tuned for more information.

May 2009 - Construction Certificate Received!

It's only taken seven years, but we have now received the Construction Certificate.

So, it's all a go from here!

March 2009 - Full steam ahead for the Museum

This long awaited project will soon be a reality!

Earlier this year, the Executive Committee of the Adaminaby Snowy Scheme Collection (ASSC) signed a revised contract with the Department of Infrastructure Regional Development and Local Government. We now have the funds to commence construction.

We have the Development Application approved and are resolving the problems with the RTA regarding the entrance. The RTA has at last approved the engineering drawings of the entrance, but we need soil tests done so that we can apply for the Construction Certificate.

An updated Business Plan is available from our Secretary.
