Paul has over 40 years experience in the Aviation Industry:
- 15 years flying operations in General Aviation; - 16 years working in regularity authority; - 13 years Operations Manager and Executive Officer of Recreational Aviation
Paul also holds a current pilot's licence, totalling over 10,000 hours, and has over 5,000 hours experience as an instructor.
ACHIEVEMENTS
- Paul has gained an extensive knowledge of all facets of general aviation including the sport/leisure sector and accident investigation.
- Chief Flying Instructor of commercial flying school for 5 years.
- Chief Pilot, General Aviation multi engine organisation for 8 years
- Involved in the formulation of aviation standards for the last 30 years
- Author of articles published in both the Aviation Digest and monthly magazines
- Oversaw and had major input into the 1988 Flight Crew Licensing Review and the Day/VFR syllabus
- Industry sub-committee member on new Part 61, Licensing Regulation Development
- Industry committee member of Operation Standards including new Part 91 Operational Regulation (current)
- Recipient of Fellow of Aviation Safety Foundation Australasia Award for professional leadership and achievements in facilitating and promoting aviation safety throughout Australia (FASFA, July 2006)
- Major contributor to a more commonsense approach to legislation
- As manager of Standards Development Branch of CAA developed unique rapport and empathy with aviation industry at large.
